Otherwise this is an extremely attractive.
The Arthur Ransome The Picts and The Martyrs original publisher’s binding is green with blind stamped title to the front board and gilt lettering to the spine. The binding is in Very Good condition with slight knocks to the top and the bottom of the spine and very slight shelf lean. These are an extremely attractive set of boards for the Arthur Ransome first edition book.
There are 302 numbered pages that have wonderful double page illustrated front endpapers and rear endpapers, an illustrated Title Page, and 20 black and white illustrations throughout this book to include the Frontispiece. The pages are in overall Very Good condition being extremely clean and tightly bound-in, with a contemporary inscription to the blank page opposite the Half Title page dated June 10 1943.
